County easement and parcel data sources

Every county that publishes an easement, right-of-way or parcel map this site can read. Coverage is built one county at a time from each county's own free official map service. There is no nationwide easement feed, and we never estimate what a county does not publish.

Where a county below publishes its easement map, lots inside that county load automatically: the recorded strips are drawn exactly as the county's own shape, and any width the county publishes is used as recorded. Where a county publishes a strip without a width, we measure the county's own shape and label it as measured. All widths and areas on this site are stated in feet and square feet. Outside these counties, the lot boundary still loads from free public parcel sources, and easements come from the deed you upload to the deed mapper.

Lines or points only

These counties publish where an easement runs, but only as a line or a dot. There is no shape with an area, so no width can be measured and no overlap can be checked. You can still open the county map yourself to see the alignment, and the deed mapper will draw the strip from the recorded legal description.

  • Mecklenburg County, North Carolina

Storm drainage easements published mainly as lines and points; only a small conservation-easement polygon set

    County GIS pageChecked 2026-09-21
  • Wake County, North Carolina

Easements published as lines, with no strip width or area

    County GIS pageChecked 2026-09-21

Checked. No easement map published

We searched these counties' own public map services and found no easement or right-of-way layer. Easements there come from the recorded document chain, not from GIS. Upload the deed to the deed mapper and it walks the land from the legal description.

How coverage grows, and what happens outside it

Each source above is a county's own public map service, read directly. No paid data brokers and no resale of county data. Counties publish these layers one at a time, so a lot only auto-loads where its county actually publishes one. When it does not, the site says so rather than guessing, and the deed mapper still walks the land from its own recorded legal description in any county.
